Unit Overview/Summary - FOCUS:

This unit is designed to have students demonstrate their ability to determine the theme of a text through the use of stories, myths, and traditional literature from different cultures. They will also begin to determine how authors use character development to develop the theme of a text.  

Unit Duration:

30 days (25 days instruction; 5 days reteaching/enrichment) based on 130 minutes to 180 minutes per day.
