The goal of the Listening and Learning Strand is for students to acquire language competence through listening, specifically building a rich vocabulary, and broad knowledge in history and science by being exposed to carefully selected, sequenced, and coherent read_alouds. The 9 units (or domains) provide lessons (including images and texts), as well as instructional objectives, core vocabulary, and assessment materials. The domain topics include: Nursery Rhymes and Fables; Five Senses; Stories; Plants; Farms; Kings and Queens; Seasons and Weather; Colonial Towns; and Taking Care of the Earth.

This reader is an Open Educational Resource, meant to accompany a graduate or higher-level undergraduate university course in climate change resilience, adaptation, and/or planning. While the material is geared toward students in urban and regional planning, it may also be of interest to students of urban studies, public health, geography, political science, sociology, risk management, and others.

Each section of this volume includes (1) an introductory summary, (2) a reading list with full-text articles, (3) student exercises meant to enhance understanding and facilitate in-class discussion, and (4) additional discussion prompts or activities for instructors to use in class. The format of materials is intended to convey key concepts while leaving ample space for student exploration, discourse, and creativity. Lessons may culminate in an applied, imaginative final project, a sample framework of which is provided at the end of Section VI.

This is a collection of cumulative units of study for conventional errors common in student writing. It's flexible, functional, and zeroes in problems typically seen in writing of all types, from the eternal "there/they're/their" struggle to correct colon use. Units are organized from most simple to most challenging.

As a class, students work through an example showing how DNA provides the "recipe" for making our body proteins. They see how the pattern of nucleotide bases (adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine) forms the double helix ladder shape of DNA, and serves as the code for the steps required to make genes. They also learn some ways that engineers and scientists are applying their understanding of DNA in our world.

Noba Project (www.nobaproject.com) is an OER psychology textbook. Noba offers a ready-made full textbook (https://nobaproject.com/textbooks/introduction-to-psychology-the-full-noba-collection) and a ready-made brief textbook (https://nobaproject.com/textbooks/discover-psychology-v2-a-brief-introductory-text). Faculty can select from among the many chapters to customize their own textbook - which is what I did.

For most of the chapters within Noba, there is a Cerego quiz. This is an adaptive learning technology that asks students to assess their mastery and then answer questions. There is no penalty for wrong answers and students can take as much time as they want with the quizzes. The quizzes rely on distributed practice to deepen learning. Students cannot complete the quizzes in one sitting. Students complete the free registration and receive reminders when it is time to review the text and pick up the quizzes again.

Students will learn about the water cycle, watersheds, and specifically, the watershed that feeds Springfield, Oregon. After analyzing drought maps, reading news reports, and seeing images and videos, students will realize that drought is a real life concern. Students, as concerned citizens, will create a water collection device, at first on a small scale, and then a true to life water collection system to help re- purpose rainwater in our garden area.

Her Şey Bir Merhaba ile Başlar is a multimedia textbook with supplementary materials for intermediate Turkish language learners.

The textbook and public Canvas course comprise an openly licensed curriculum focused on developing Intercultural Communicative Competence. The four units invite learners to engage with culturally rich print, audio and video texts and use the target language to investigate, explain and reflect on the relationship between contemporary Turks’ socio-cultural practices, products and perspectives. Each unit addresses a different aspect of society: family, love and marriage, the environment, and art and politics, and contains the following components:

- contextualized grammar lessons,
- videos of Turks speaking about their lives and their country,
- activities that hone language skills while raising awareness about contemporary Turkish society,
- interactive, auto-correct exercises that facilitate learners’ acquisition of vocabulary and syntax structures.

Since 1988, the U.S. Government has set aside the period from September 15 to October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month to honor the many contributions Hispanic Americans have made and continue to make to the United States of America. Our Teacher's Guide brings together resources created during NEH Summer Seminars and Institutes, lesson plans for K-12 classrooms, and think pieces on events and experiences across Hispanic history and heritage.

The following document has been created by the First Year Studies Department at Housatonic Community College. Many of the YouTube videos that are included have Standard YouTube licenses, which allows the sharing of links by educators; each has been attributed to their creator. The ancillary materials are organized by chapter and include discussion questions, journaling prompts, classroom activities, assessments, projects, and rubrics. This collection is CC-by 4.0; faculty may revise, remix, reuse, retain, and redistribute as needed, if the work is attributed appropriately. Some assignments or activities correspond directly to page numbers in the College Success text and others refer to the chapter in its entirety. This Instructor’s Guide contains the brief outlines of Chapters 12-21 as found in Concepts of Biology, though some underwent revision. Also, instructors will find detailed outlines of the text for use in lecturing, as well as structured outlines that may be used by students to take notes while reading the chapter or during lecture. All outlines are derived from the OpenStax text. Additionally, study guides that contain a variety of questions are provided for students.
